SBS’s weekend drama Gwigung set a new personal record, achieving a nationwide viewership rating of 9.3% in its second week.

Gwigung is a fantasy romantic comedy that follows the tangled fate of Yeori, a female shaman who rejects her destiny, and Kang Cheol, an imugi (giant snake spirit) trapped in the body of Yeori’s first love, Yoon Gap.

The drama surpassed the first-episode ratings of My Perfect Secretary and Treasure Island and secured the No. 1 spot among miniseries for two consecutive weeks.

The intriguing storyline featuring a shaman and a mythical creature, combined with Yook Sungjae’s praised dual-role performance and his rising popularity as a “pure-hearted male lead,” continues to fuel the drama’s growing success.
