With January 27 designated as a temporary public holiday, the Lunar New Year holiday has been extended to six days, raising hopes for a box office boom.

Major releases include 'Hitman 2' (January 22) starring Kwon Sang-woo, 'The Black Nuns' (January 24) featuring Song Hye-kyo and Jeon Yeo-bin, and 'Secret That Cannot Be Told' (January 28) starring Do Kyung-soo and Won Jin-ah.  

Several children’s animated films are also set to premiere, catering to diverse audiences.  

The long holiday, coupled with rising exchange rates and cold weather, is expected to boost demand for indoor activities over overseas travel.  

The film industry is optimistic about reviving momentum and capitalizing on the holiday surge.
